GLI ALLESTIMENTI MUSEALI. CONSERVAZIONE E ADEGUAMENTO NEL MUSEO CONTEMPORANEO

The two fundamental tasks of any museum are to guarantee the preservation of cultural heritage and to transmit its significance to the community through the means of communication at its disposal, first and foremost public display. The exhibition design acts as a narrative path which, from the physical structure of the museum, reaches the visitor in a process of progressive discovery and knowledge of the works or contents on display. The experience of the refurbishment of the 38 rooms of the Pinacoteca di Brera, started in 2016 and concluded in 2018, was the starting point for an analysis on the conservation and adaptation of museum displays. The theme is very contemporary and re-emerges every time we start to rearrange a museum's collections and therefore exhibition spaces that have a strong discursive and narrative value of their own and an architectural dignity.
